what to expect:
Every consultation is unique, because every animal and their person are unique. This applies not only in the issues we are addressing, but also how much we are willing or able to accept or understand in that moment. Sometimes information that seems "off" or not relevant becomes clearer after some time has passed. The most important thing is for both the animal and their human to feel supported and listened to with compassion and without judgment. Belief in the person who is delivering the message and the information that is given is a fundamental element in healing. My goal is to enhance the communication, understanding and balance in the relationship and to find resolution for the issue at hand. This may happen immediately or it may need a few times as we work to peel away the layers. Most issues have taken a long time to grow - working on resolving them may also take some time. In the end, we all want to heal and to feel a part of the evolution of this planet toward love and peace.

My role in a consultation is to be the interpreter, or the bridge between the parties involved, and to help to support the relationship you already have with your animal. I am an impartial observer. Most of the time I support and confirm what the person has already intuitively felt. We truly are all connected and quite often whatever is worrying or troubling the animal is more than likely mirroring something that is going on with their person as well.

types of consultations
I do different types of consultations based on what the issue is. The cost of the consultation reflects how much time I spend with your animal alone and how much time I spend with the person and animal together.

  • Understanding behavior and relationship issues:
Quite often an animal will exhibit unusual behaviors or start behaving in a way that is not usual. This may be because they have tried to get their person's attention and it hasn't worked another way. They may be feeling unwell, or something in the person's life may have changed, and their animal is reflecting it for them. Often these types of consultations include an energetic body scan to see if there are energy blockages or energy leaving the body. While I do not diagnose an illness, I can tell you how your animal is feeling and where they hurt. Your animals have reasons why they are behaving the way they do, and most often, they are quite willing to offer solutions to help resolve the issue.
  • Connecting with an animal who has passed over:
This can be a rewarding experience for those who have a beloved friend who has "gone Home." Many times there is a resolution of unanswered questions, leading to peace and an eternal heart connection. Often the grief and disconsolation of how and why a beloved animal died is resolved by the love and understanding that comes through from the other side.
  • Understanding the death/dying process:
None of us are ever fully prepared to say goodbye to a loved one and often the love we feel for an animal friend feels stronger than what we have felt for other humans. Medical decisions can be difficult, and while faced with losing our friend, it is easy to get overwhelmed. It helps to be able to stay connected with the animal and go through the process together. Animals are not afraid to pass over and many times their wisdom and understanding are essential to support the human friend they are physically leaving behind.
  • Finding a lost animal:
Having your animal missing or lost is a traumatic experience and one we never wish to experience. Tracking a missing animal can sometimes be the hardest kind of communication to do, because the connection between animal and their person is distorted from fear and the unknown. Some animals choose not to return to their former homes while others are out having the adventure of their lifetime. I am willing to do the best I can to help reunite animal/human.
  • General curiosity and information:
Consultations do not have to occur only when there is a trauma or issue. Sometimes it is nice just to find out if your animal is happy and if there is anything else you can do for them. They also may have a message they'd like to relay to you - it's a two way connection!

Following the animal communicator's code of ethics, I only connect with the animal if the owner has given their permission. You may either call me directly or email me to request a consultation. Once we have agreed that I can be of help to you, please email the following:

  • A picture (recent if possible, but not necessary) of the animal/s with whom you wish to connect, including a good head shot.
  • If you do not have email, you can mail a picture to me, and I will get it back to you, if necessary. If there is no picture available, I will need an accurate description of your animal friend.
  • The animal's name (and any nicknames), age, breed, gender, spayed/neutered.
  • How you acquired your animal and the length of time you've lived together.
  • What you would like to discuss about your animal, such as behavior, health, or relationships. The more information you can share and the more specific you are with your questions, the further I will be able to go to a greater depth with the communication. It helps to have you clearly focused on a main concern or issue.

Once I receive the information I will spend some time alone with your animal. How much time it takes to work with them depends on the issue, whether or not we are doing a body/energy scan, and how much they are willing to participate. Sometimes an animal is distracted and I do not get a clear connection, so I may need to try a couple of times.

After I have received the information, I will contact you by phone, and we will set up a phone appointment to discuss the issue. Sometimes, I will email information beforehand, so that you have time to think about what the animal said. The follow-up call is important, because it allows the client, the animal and myself to have a three-way exchange and to clarify or pursue anything that has come up in the conversation. It is important to find resolution for both the animal and the human. I do make "house calls" if you are within a 45 minute driving radius of where I live in Shelburne, Vermont.

additional recommendations
I may also recommend one of the following if I think it would contribute to the physical and/or emotional well-being of the animal. In some cases, such as with the flower essences, it can be beneficial for both the animal and their owner to take a remedy.

  • Alternative treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic, etc.
  • Flower essences
  • TTouch training (a wonderful method of meeting the animals where they are using a creative process combining touch, movement and equipment to resolve issues and bring the animal back into balance).
  • Energy work / Reiki healing
  • Holistic nutrition and diet
  • Animal trainer (Karen Reilly at Paws for Obedience. I have worked with her for several years and highly recommend her compassionate and knowledgeable training methods).

Payment is by cash or check. If you live outside of the US, you may pay by credit card using PayPal, and I will send you a PayPal notice at the end of our consultation. Please do not purchase a consultation until you have scheduled an appointment.
